The name of my blog is a bit of a play on words. You see my name is Chelsea. It is a very common English name. However, both my parents are immigrants from Portugal. Moreover, the majority of my family still lives in Portugal. When I was born twenty-one years ago, my Portuguese family had a really difficult  time comprehending how to pronounce my name. Over twenty years later my family still doesn't pronounce my name correctly which has resulted in me being "Chelsea" in the United States and "Shelseas" the second I step off the plane in Portugal. Thus, "Shells&Seas" was born. Not only because it sounds like my name in Portuguese, but because it represents my passion for the ocean and exploring this beautiful world.

This blog came out of from my experiences and ever growing stories I have from my travels overseas. I have always had a dream of exploring the world. But only now in my adulthood have I been able to make those aspirations come true. I want to use my platform to inspire other college students like me who are so broke but still want to see the world while they're young. I am very fortunate to have been to so many stunning places at such a young age. Now my travels have been life-changing, but they weren't always glorious. I want this website to be a place where people could relate, but also a place where people can interact with my content and ask questions.  Everyone deserves to travel, and I want to be the one to show you where to start on this new exciting journey.
